REGISTER FOR GIFT AID

Gift Aid is a government scheme that allows us to reclaim the basic rate tax you pay as a UK taxpayer. It means that we can claim 25p of tax for every £1 you donate at no extra cost to you.

All you need to do is make a Gift Aid declaration.

gift Aid It.png

I am a UK taxpayer and I would like any donation I make in the future and have made in the past 4 years to be treated as Gift Aid donations, until I notify you otherwise.

I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year it is my responsibility to pay any difference.

Please let us know if your tax circumstances or name and address details change so we can amend our records. Please email: finance@helpinghoundshampshire.com

Thank you for signing up for Gift Aid, it means that at no further cost, you can help us to keep our kennels open, our van running, our insurances up to date, and enable us to keep rescuing dogs in need.

MEET SOME OF THE DOGS AVAILABLE TO ADOPT

These are just 3 of our gorgeous dogs who are looking for a home to call their own. You can see ALL the dogs available for adoption here

Adopters are required to complete an application form, and have a successful home visit by the rescue prior to meeting a dog.

Our adoption donation is £495 and helps us cover the spay/neuter and rescue of another dog.

Lulu

Female

5 Years

Age:

Lulu is looking for a new home as its sadly not working out where she lives currently as she keeps chasing their livestock. She’s a small dog, very loving and enjoys curling up your lap. She is clean in the house, spayed and vaccinated. Lulu has excellent recall when there is no livestock and walks happily off lead with various dogs. Lulu has only had limited socialisation so she can sometimes be reactive to other dogs whilst on the lead, she can occasionally be nervous of new people and if allowed, she can be possessive of 'her' person/people. In the right home with correct management of these issues we are certain they can be overcome If you feel that you can give Lulu the type of home that she needs then please complete our adoption application form and one of our team will get in contact with you.

Millie & Tess

Female

9 Years

Age:

Millie (Black) & Tess (Black & White) are Shar Pei x Collie sisters who have never been apart so we’d love to find them a home together. We would adjust our normal adoption donation to make this possible and will consider an adoption or long term foster home anywhere in the south of England. Please complete an application form to discuss this further with us. These lovely girls were sadly surrendered to us due to their elderly owner no longer being able to care for them. They love a fuss from all the volunteers, enjoy their walks and freedom field adventures. They are clean indoors and settle well. They are spayed and fully vaccinated.

But before you go...

If you've made the decision to add a canine companion to your family, but haven't fallen in love with the dogs we currently have here, don't give up on us! We get dogs coming through all the time, and rehome for local stray dog kennels too. Many of these dogs get snapped up before we even have a chance to put them on our website.

How? Well... they've completed our adoption application form and instead of putting the name of one of our current dogs, they've said "Any" and tell us about the sort of dog that would fit in well with their family. When the potentially perfect dog comes into our care, we call them first, before promoting the dog elsewhere.

These are some of the dogs we've recently rehomed in this way:

So if you're prepared to wait for the ideal dog, click the button below to get the ball rolling. We'll process your application. Our homing manager will call you to have a chat about your application and then arrange a home visit. This is so that the rescue is able to determine that we're all in agreement about the dog that will best suit your family, your lifestyle and your activity levels.

CAN YOU BECOME A FOSTER HERO?

Council stray dog kennels can hold a dog for 7 days, during which time they make best efforts to trace owners if the dog is microchipped or wearing a tagged collar. If unclaimed, they need to find them a rescue, because council facilities are inundated and simply don't have the space for them.

We want to help home as many of these dogs as possible, but we also have limited space in our kennels, so we need fosters to provide love and support in their homes, giving these dogs a chance at adoption, and helping them transition more successfully when their forever homes are found.

  • We will provide full support, and cover any veterinary and medication costs.

  • We will lend you dog beds, bowls, leads, harnesses and a crate if needed

  • We can also provide food if required, but many fosters prefer to cover this themselves, rather than have to collect from our kennels.

If you have time and space, please think about fostering. It’s a huge help to rescue centres that are flooded with dogs, some of which have never been left in kennels and are simply there because their owners are sick, or can’t keep them. Kennels are not fun places. They are cold and bewildering. But the alternative is worse. And as soon as one dog is rehomed there’s another 20 desperately needing the kennel space. Fostering is so rewarding, a lot of work but you get so much back and you’ll be helping a dog find its way to a new life. And rescued is the best breed!

- Helping Hounds Foster

Keep dogs like these out of kennels by providing love and support in your home, helping them transition more successfully to their forever homes.

FOSTER FOR US

foster for us

Fostering  is such a rewarding experience. We need foster homes for dogs that don't adapt well to kennels, and those that need to be brought along in an experienced home to get them ready for adoption.
